And then after you ponder the door for a while longer, the rest of the tower draws you in, and you find yourself looking up and then up again, marvelling at the architecture, the artwork, the enchantingly pink marble, and the whole damn thing, and you can spend an awful lot of time doing this.

You're standing in a perfect environment for considered contemplation of things, and the time spent is well rewarded.

I took too many pictures. But I don't feel like skipping a bunch of 'em, 'cause they're too nice to let go.
